Ratio should become = 5 : 4 .

Let the years after which this ratio would be possible be x .

So ,
acc. to the question ,
( 14 + x ) / ( 10 + x ) = 5 / 4
=> 4 ( 14 + x ) = 5 ( 10 + x )
=> 56 + 4x = 50 + 5x
=> x = 6 .

So , after 6 years the ratio of their ages will become 5 : 4 .
