Let the presnt ages of Veena and Simi be 2x and 5x.
Therefore,
Age of Veena after 4 years = 2x+4
Age of Simi after 4 years = 5x+4
Since, ratio of their ages after four years = 1:2
Therefore, (2x+4)/(5x+4) = 1/2
=> 4x+8 = 5x+4
=> 5x-4x = 8-4
=> x = 4

Therefore,
Present age of Veena = 2x
= 2 x 4
= 8 years
Present age of Simi = 5x
= 5 x 4
= 20 years
