Let us consider , and write the expression for x(t), v(t) and a(t) e.g., displacement, velocity and acceleration respectively.
equation of SHM is given by,
x(t) = Acoswt .......(i), where w is angular frequency.
differentiate with respect to t,
v(t) = -wAsinwt .........(ii)
again, differentiate with respect to t,
a(t) = -w²Acoswt..........(iii)
The corresponding plots are shown in figure . all quantities vary sinusoidally with time.
x(t) varies between -A to A , v(t) varies between -wA to wA and a(t) varies between -w²A to w²A with respect to displacement plot, velocity plot has a phase difference of π/2 and acceleration plot has a phase difference of π.
