Our data, as per the question, has been given as follows:-

Topic: Distribution of Indian population by their working (chores)

status

Types of workers                   No. of individuals

Marginal Workers                               9

Main Workers                                     31

Non-workers                                      62

∴ Total no. of individuals = 9 + 31 + 62 = 102

Now, in order to present these figures in a pie chart (i.e. circular diagram), we will have to find out the angles each of the categories will occupy in the chart;

Angle for Marginal workers = \frac{9}{102} × 360° = 31.7°

Similarly, angle for Main workers = \frac{31}{102} × 360° = 109.4°

And, angle for non-workers = \frac{62}{102} × 360° = 218.8°

The pie chart will be presented in the following manner, as given in the attachment.

The distribution of workers on the pie chart is given below.

Explanation:

  • The number of individual workers.
  • Marginal Workers  =  9
  • Main Workers  =   31
  • Non-workers  =   62
  • The total number of workers = 102
  • Now from the above data a pie chart or circular diagram can be constructed.
  • First, find out the angles to draw the chart.
  • Main workers = 31 / 102 x 360 = 109.4°
  • marginal workers = 9 / 102 x 360 = 31.7°
  • Non workers = 62 / 102 x 360 = 218.8°
