Press is an important pillar of democracy, it plays an important role in providing the information regarding activities, policies and achievements of ruling party in a democratic set up. It bridges the gap between government and the people. It is a mean of mass communication. Press is expected to present a real picture of politicians. As the people do not have face to face interaction with each and every member of the government, it is only press that serves the purpose. But unfortunately Indian press is not so free as it should be. It has often been observed that our press is not impartial. It highlights only the coloured features, the darker side remains hidden.
