yes , of course surface area of contact changes , pressure exerted by a body should be changed .
because we know,
pressure = force applied on by body/surface area of body.

if force remains constant then, pressure is inversely proportional to surface area . means, higher the surface area , lower pressure exerted on body.

example :- the school bags have wider straps, wider the streps, less the pressure on our shoulders.

Two cases of Pressure applied by a body changes when the surface of zone of contact changes are -

i) It is simpler to compose with a honed edged pencil ( less region) than a limit one ( more noteworthy territory)

ii) A sharp blade can without much of a stretch cut a fruit(less region) while a limit one cannot(greater region).

∴Pressure is contrarily relative to region.
