Given

➝ Pressure exerted = 200 Pascals.

➝ Area of surface = 5m²

To find

Force applied on the surface

Solution

What is pressure?

Pressure is the division of force applied and area of surface.

Unit : Pascal / [N/m²]

What is 1 Pascal?

If on a surface area of 1 m² , 1 N force is applied, then pressure exerted on that surface is called 1 Pascal.

Now we have ;

➝ Area (A) = 5m²

➝ Pressure (P) = 200 Pa

Now we know that,

Pressure (P) = Force(F)/Area(A)

Substituting values,

➝ 200 = F/5

➝ F = 5 × 200

F = 1000 N

Force applied on surface = 1000 N
