Pressure is determined as force per unit area of the surface. The SI unit of
pressure, pascal is as shown below :
1 Pa IN m2
If mass of air at sea level is 1034 g cm, calculate the pressure in pascal.

Mass = 1034g = 1.034 kg

Force = mg = 1.034×9.81 N = 10.143 N

area = 1 cm² = 1×10⁻⁴ m²

Pressure = F/A = 10.134 / 1×10⁻⁴ N/m² = 1.013×10⁵ N/m² = 1.013×10⁵ Pa

Therefore, the pressure is 1.013×10 Pa.
