we know, for adiabatic expansion
PV^{\gamma} = K
where P is the pressure of gases
V is the volume of gases.
\gammais the atomicity of gas.
and K is constant.

for monoatomic gas ,
\gamma = 5/3 ≈ 1.667

so, relation between pressure and volume for a monoatomic gas under adiabatic expansion is given as PV^{1.667}=K
