-Use cleaner fuels.

-Flue Gas Desulphurisation (FGD)

-Use other sources of electricity (i.e. nuclear power, hydro-electricity, wind energy, geothermal energy, and solar energy)

-Reducing the effects of Acid Rain by Liming.

The main cause of acid rain is poisonous gases like oxides of nitrogen and oxides of sulphur which comes from vehicles, burning of fuel and industrial processes. To prevent acid rain the above processes should be minimized.
