Reason for placing the multicellular algae from kingdom plantae to kingdom protista:

  • In kingdom protista "chrystophytes", "dinoflagellates", "euglenoids", "slime moulds" and "protozoans".
  • Few of the "general biology textbook authors" place the "microscopic, unicellular green algae" (Chlorophyta) in the "Kingdom Protista", and place the bigger, "multicellular" (macroscopic) "green algae" (Division Chlorophyta) in the "Kingdom Plantae".
  • Nearly all plants are "multicellular", meaning of that are consisting up of "more than single cell".
  • Simple organisms, like "bacteria", are the "unicellular" meaning their entire body consists of the just single cell.
