Step-by-step explanation:

Initially I could buy x mangoes for Rs.60/-. So cost of 1 mango =60/x

When price decreases by 25% I can buy the same x quantity for Rs.45 (75%of 60) or 4 more for Rs.60/-.

The equation formed would be:

45/x = 60/x+4

=45 (x+4) = 60x ( cross multiplying)= 45x+180=60x or

15x = 180

x = 12.

So initially 12 mangoes could be got gor Rs.60 and now 12+4=16 mangoes could be got.

Initial CP 60/12= Rs.5/- per mango

Now after decrease in price = 60/16 or 15/4 or Rs.3.75

Answer:

This calculation helps you to find the original price after a percentage decrease. Subtract the discount from 100 to get the percentage of the original price. Multiply the final price by 100. Divide by the percentage in Step One.
