The cost of a Kg of coffee is Rs.115.84.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

The ratio 12:23 of prices of tea and coffee last year.

The ratio 15:19 of prices of tea between last year and this year.

The ratio 5:6 of prices of coffee between last year and this year.

Rs.214 is cost together of this year a KG of coffee and a KG of tea.

To Find:

The cost of a Kg of coffee .

Solution:

Let the last year price of  a kg of tea and  a kg of coffee are  p and q respectively.

As given-The ratio 12:23 of prices of tea and coffee last year.

\frac{p}{q} =\frac{12}{23}    ------------- equation no. 01

Let the this year price of a kg of  tea and  a kg of coffee are  m and n respectively.

As given-the ratio 15:19 of prices of tea between last year and this year.

\frac{p}{m} =\frac{15}{19}    ------------- equation no.02

As given-the ratio 5:6 of prices of coffee between last year and this year.

\frac{q}{n} =\frac{5}{6}    ------------ equation no.03.

As given-Rs.214 is cost together of this year a KG of coffee and a KG of tea.

m+n=214  ----------- equation no.04

Dividing equation 02 by equation no.03, we get.

\frac{p}{m} \times\frac{n}{q} =\frac{15}{19} \times\frac{6}{5}

\frac{p}{q} \times\frac{n}{m} =\frac{90}{95}

putting the value of \frac{p}{q} from equation no.01, we get.

\frac{12}{23} \times\frac{n}{m} =\frac{90}{95}

\frac{n}{m} =\frac{90\times23}{95\times12}

\frac{n}{m} =\frac{2070}{1140}

\frac{n}{m} =1.81

n=1.81m

Putting the value of n in equation no.04, we get.

m+n=214

m+1.81m=214

2.18m=214

m=98.16

Putting the value of m in equation no.04.

98.16+n=214

n=214-98.16

n=  Rs.\ 115.84

Thus,the cost of a Kg of coffee is Rs.115.84.
