Explanation:

At the start of the poem, the princess decides to let go of her crown and leave the palace. She wants to join the gypsies and roam the "wide world". But contrary to her belief, the gypsies told her that their paths and ways of survival is harsh. And unlike her current life, she would have to sacrifice every comfort and suffer travelling through the rocks and cold streams and eat barley bread. In the end, the princess decided not to follow them, choosing to stay in the palace with her "silken gown". But as she turned to go up the palace stairs, she heard the gypsies laugh at her which broke her heart in half.

Explanation:She was tired of being a queen and she hated her crown and her state. She complained that she hated her crown and state and her advisors sit in narrow chairs and are old and grey. She was ready to give up her own crown. She ran from the golden steps and down she met some gypsies. She wanted to join with the gypsies when they dissauted her from accompanying them and highlighted how privileged the princess was. She narrated that she bathes in warm water and gold basins and the ladies serve her with care and courtesy and with love serve. They also tell that she must think about the hardships that she might face if she becomes a gypsy. The price that she might have to pay if she chose their lives. Though she may hear the birds sing during the spring ,she but she might have to face withstand severe winter. They eat bitter barley bread but the princess eats sugary cakes. Will fall into a ditch and get wounded and will die a lonely death and will have no one to care for her when she dies. The dogs chase them bite them and bark at them when they pass through the farm. The princess understood that the gypsies led a difficult life and gave her ruby rings and chains but she was in a dilemma whether she had taken the right decision or not
