this is applicable to ferromagnetic ores. for example tin stone can be separated from wolfromite impurities which is magnetic. similarly ores such as chromite, pyrolusite having magnetic property can be removed from non magnetic siliceous impurities. crushed ore is put on to an electomagnetic belt consisting of belt of two rollers of one is magnetic. magnetic part gets attracted and falls as a heap close to the magnetic region while non magnetic part falls away from it.
