When fuel burn it releases hot gases producing upthrust which helps the rocket to move upwards

The principle of working of rocket is based on the"PRINCIPLE OF CONSERVATION OF MOMENTUM AND NEWTON'S THIRD LAW....
the fuel so burnt in the rocket exert a force on the ground and from newtons third law ground also exert a force on rocket..this reaction force helps rocket to take off...and hence rocket works on this principle...
