Given:

Priti bought a table for ₹25,000 and spent some amount to get it polished.

If by selling the table for ₹36,000 she makes 25% profit

To find:

The money spent on the polishing

Solution:

Let us consider the CP of the table is 100 units

and it is given that profit is 25 % so it should by 25 units

So,

the SP of the table will be 100 + 25 = 125 units

As per the data in the question the

125 units = ₹36000

1 unit = ₹288

100 units = ₹28800

So the actual Cost price of the table for Preeti would be ₹28800

and she brought it @ of ₹25000

So the cost on the polishing will be given as:

28800 - 25000

₹3800

The money spent on the polishing is ₹3800
