Priyaiishi has 5 chocolates less than Dhruv. If both have 15 chocolates, find the number of chocolates each has? Solve the puzzle using the equations.

let the no. of chocolates with Priyaiishi be x
no. of chocolates with Dhruv be y
According to first condition

y = x - 5

According to second condition

x + y = 15

Adding equations 1 and 2 ,

- x + y = - 5
x + y = 15

2y = 10
y = 5

Substituting value of y in equation 2
x + 5 = 15
x = 10

Therefore Priyaiishi has 10 chocolates and Dhruv has 5 chocolates .
