cost of erasers=y

case-1:- 2x+3y=9

case-2- x+2y=5

subtract 2 from 1

and multiply 2nd equation with 2 for easy eliminating of x

so, 2x+3y=9

-2x-4y=-10

y=1

substitute , y value in equation 2 we get x as 3

cost of pencil is 3, eraser is 1
