Priyanka took a wire and bent it to form a circle of radius 14 cm. what is the length of the wire?. Then she bent it into a rectangle with one side 24cm long. which figure encloses more area?

Answer:

length of wire=circumference of circle

=2πr=2*22/7*14

=88cm

area of circle=πr^2

=22/7*14*14

=616cm^2

perimeter of rectangle=88

2(l+b) =88

24+b=44

b=20cm

area of rectangle=24*20

=480cm^2

so circle incloses more area.
