Therefore, it is wise to discuss it among adults and then involve children at a later stage when the decision is all but made. At that stage involve the kids and ask their opinion while at the same time suggesting your own view point as in “should we do such and such or should we ….”. Kids work well with definite options.
When you do this though, listen carefully and attentively to what they have to say. They might just come up with a totally new idea which you may not have considered.
Involving them gives them a sense of belonging, love, respect, and confidence.
