1. A social group is two or more humans who interact with one another, share similar characteristics, and collectively have a sense of unity.

2. The essential characteristics of a primary group are intimate feelings and close identification. These qualities are found more abundantly in some concrete groups than in others. In a primary group we directly co-operate with our fellows and our relations with them are intimately personal.

3. Unlike first groups, secondary groups are large groups whose relationships are impersonal and goal oriented. People in a secondary group interact on a less personal level than in a primary group, and their relationships are generally temporary rather than long lasting.
