The company should use 240 rupees on X1 ingredients and 600 rupees on x2 ingredients to minimize the cost.

Step-by-step explanation:

An animal feed company must produce exactly 200kg of a mixture consisting of ingredients a and b.

x1 + x2  = 200 kg

x1 ≤ 80 & x2 ≥ 60

Cost = 3 (x1) + 5 (x2)

The Cost of “x1” is less. Hence we must use a maximum of “x1” and also not more than 80kg of “x1” can be used.

Here,

x1= 80

x2 = 200kg – 80kg

  = 120 kg

Cost of 200 kg   =  (3 x1 +5 x2)

                            = (3 * 80) + (5 * 120)

                            = 240 + 600

                            = 840

Cost of mixture = Rs 840 .

The company should use 240 rupees on X1 and 600 rupees on x2 to minimize the cost.
