I may contract the disease and get cold the next day because the viruses causing common cold( mostly rhinoviruses) are spread in the form of airborne droplets, which is inhaled.

  • Respiratory secretions of the infected person is one of the major ways in which it gets spread.
  • To protect others from the common cold, one should cover the nose and mouth while coughing or sneezing to avoid release of respiratory droplets into the air.
