Let maximum marks = 100%

Passing marks = 40 %

Marks scored = 80 and failed by 20 marks

40 % = 80 + 20

40 % = 100

1 % = 100 / 40 = 2.5

100 % = 100 * 2.5 = 250

Maximum marks = 250.

Answer:

Minimum score - 40%

Total Marks - 2000

40%= 40/100*2000

= 40*20

=800

Step-by-step explanation:

To find marks scored by student =Percentage/100*Total marks

= 40/100*2000

= 800
