THE MAIN PROBLEMS WERE
1 A LONG DECLINE OF EXPORT OF TEXTILES IN INDIA
2 PRODUCED BY MACHINES AT LOWER COSTS , THE IMPORTED COTTON GOODS WERE SO CHEAP THAT THE WEAVERS COULD NOT EASILY COMPETE WITH THEM.
3 THEY COULD NOT GET SUFFICIENT SUPPLY OF RAW COTTON OF GOOD QUALITY.
