They had great difficulty in putting up the canvas. They were not able to put the frame work of hooks together in place. When it was time to stretch the canvas over the boat, both George and Harris got tangled up in the canvas and had to be rescued by the narrator.

The three friends faced a lot of difficulties while erecting the canvas of the boat. At first tgey took a lot of time to put the hooks in the socket , then they felt that the canvas is not looking fine at all and they came to knew that they had put wrong hooks in the sockets. Then they again errect the hooks in the sockets correctly
while they were errecting when there was a need of streching the canvas ,, George and harris did it in a way that they get tangled into it and start blaming each other. after a long time they finally completed their task of errecting canvas
