Answer:

son's present age =10

Father's age =4×10=40

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the son's present age be X

A to Q

Father's age 4×X=4X

After 5 years son's age X+5 and father's age 4X+5

A to Q

 \frac{x + 5}{4x + 5}  =  \frac{1}{3}

on cross multiplication

3(X+5)=1(4X+5)

3X+15=4X+5

3X-4X=5-15

-X= -10

X=10

So son's present age =10

Father's age =4×10=40
