Potwar Plateau is situated in Rawalpindi, Attock, and Jhelum districts. It lies between the Indus and Jhelum rivers and is bounded on the north by the Hazara Hills and on the south by the Salt Range. The salt range in the south separate Potwar from the Punjab plain.
Potwar plateau had bad land topography. Steep (sharp) slopes, ravines, gullies and gorges are formed due to soil erosion; there is series of low hills average height 300 to 600 metres.
