Today, metropolitan cities in India are bursting at the seams, with burgeoning growth in indigenous population coupled with a steady arrival of migrants in search of work. Consequently, the city Corporations are struggling to maintain municipal services at the levels they were originally designed to do. Waterlogged streets and traffic snarls are commonplace.

In addition to the slow pace or lack of municipal services, policing has become another area of concern as the crime graph shows no signs of coming down.

The other areas that have compounded problems for the citizens are lack of adequate healthcare and education. Medical facilities are far too stretched today as there has been negligible growth in the number of hospitals or addition of beds in the existing ones. The schools and colleges too are far below the desired number. This continually leads to either denial of admissions to a lot of students or their emigration to distant places.

In view of the foregoing, several remedial steps, as detailed below, need to be taken.

1)       A complete ban should be imposed on the use of plastic bags to prevent choking of drains.

2)      Canals in and around the metropolitan area should be de-silted periodically.

3)      People should not be encouraged to migrate into cities. In order to prevent this, smaller satellite towns should be made to come up and remunerative economic activity set up in those places as well as in rural areas.

4)      The police force should be spread across the city with the induction of more personnel and by the setting up of more police stations. They need to be disciplined and ethically trained.

5)      More hospitals need to be built and more beds added to augment the existing facility.

6)      The effects of epidemics like dengue, malaria etc. can be minimised by deploying more para-medical  personnel for monitoring and by adopting commensurate preventive measures.

7)      More flyovers need to be constructed to control the traffic congestion in the city. Car owners should also be encouraged to take public transport in the general interest of smooth traffic flow, especially now that AC Volvo buses have been added to the fleet.

If at least some of the above measures are taken, the metropolitan cities will become better places to live in than what they are today.

Initially everyone was looking towards cites . Everyone's dreams was to get job & settled in cites . No one liked slow & unemployed life of villages. But when over the last 50 years the gap between road to cite reduced drastically . people are realizing that its not the world which they dream about . Main problem is Housing . Metros are too crowded the there is no more space for medium or less salaried parsons over there . Govt. is running short of budget home s& homes for less privileged people . then again Cleanliness  & hygiene issues which are curse of high population & inefficient management  of Local authorities . Over on that  everyday illegal constriction choked the city 's transportation at all . through over the year constriction along side road & less space to drive & walk .
each year thousands of people migrate to metros which gives extra load on electricity & drinking water availability . Plastics & hocking ruing the joy of ride of any city .
Here are few intimidate solution to control the damage at metros
1. NO to plastics
2. No honking , only if needed
3. No wasted of water . avoid car washing everyday
4. Proper garbage & waste management for local authority.
5. Look out for more appropriate space to built the home without damaging environment
6. Noise & air pollution control
7. Special treatment  for  kids & senior citizen
8.Proper tax collection & use of public money for betterment of city .
