☆ Male gamete- sperm

☆Female gamete- ovum ( egg )

☆ Fertilisation-

The fusion of Male gamete with a female gamete in order to form a zygote is basically termed as fertilisation.

The fertilisation of egg by a sperm can take place either inside the female body or outside the female body.

☆ There are two types of fertilisation-

● Internal fertilisation

● External fertilisation

☆ Internal fertilisation-

The fertilisation which occurs the female's body is basically termed as internal fertilisation.

For example - Mammals ( including human beings ) , birds , reptiles .

☆ External fertilisation-

The fertilisation which occurs outside the female body is basically termed as external fertilisation.

For example- Amphibians ( frogs and toads ) and fishes .
