Groundwater recharge or deep drainage or deep percolation is a hydrologic process, where water moves downward from surface water to groundwater. Recharge is the primary method through which water enters an aquifer.

the underground water is being replenished by water cycle

the water in the seas, oceans, lakes, canals are evaporated and till the water droplets in clouds become heavy it come to earth as rain thus this water absorbed by the ground
