The process is called ‘budding’, wherein each cell in yeast gives out a tiny outgrowth, and it grows bigger with the accumulation of cytoplasm. The nucleus divides into two and a nucleus is passed onto each bud. The bud then cuts off from the mother cell and leads an independent life.
