Digestion in human beings:-

The process of digestion is performed by following processes :

Mouth----oesophagus-------stomach------liver-------small intestine-----large intestine-------rectum-----anus

1.Mouth

Certain drugs coming in contact with the mucosa of mouth and lower side of the tongue are absorbed into the blood capillary lining them.

2.Stomach

Absorption of water, simple sugars and alcohol etc. Take place.

3.Small intestine

Principle organ for absorption of nutrients. The digestion is completed here and the final products of digestion such aa glucose, fructose etc are absorbed through the mucosa into the blood stream and lymph.

4.Large intestine

Absorption of water, some minerals and drugs take place.
