The internet has mainly two protocols TCP/IP. Information is carried by the TCP/IP. The whole information is broken down into small pieces called 'packets'. Each packet travels a particular route as given by the IP. The IP gives the address of the location to every packet. The packets travel through various routes to reach its destination. It is not necessary for all the packets to take the same route or for each packet to take the same route every time it is sent. If any packet is garbled, a request is sent to resend them. At destination, the packets are collected together and transformed into a complete message by the TCP. Thus the information reaches from one end to another.Thereby we are able to collect information about various topics through the internet.

Hope it helps. Thank you. ʘ‿ʘ
