 \overline{\underline{\boxed{\sf HOW \:  TO \:  DO \darr}}}

Step 1 : Take any variable in place of the number we need to find.

Step 2 : Multiply the number with the variable and keep the result on the left hand side

Step 3 : Cross multiply and get the answer

\overline{\underline{\boxed{\sf SOLUTION \darr}}}

Let the unknown entity be x

So it is given that 15/7 multiplied by x to get 27/14

So the equation is

  • 15/7 × x = 27/14

  • 15x/7 = 27/14

By cross multiplying we get

  • 15x × 14 = 27 × 7

  • 210x = 189

Transposing 210 on the right hand side we get

  • x = 189/210

  • x = 63/70

Hence, the other number is 63/70
