Therefore, (x - 2)(x + 3) = 84

=> x² + 3x - 2x - 6 = 84

=> x² + x - 90 = 0

=> x² + 10x - 9x - 90 = 0

=> x(x + 10) - 9(x + 10) = 0

=> (x - 9)(x + 10).

=> x = 9 , x = - 10

But age can't be negatively so, x = 9 is her present age.
