Given :–

  • A rational number =  - \dfrac{2}{7}

To Find :–

  • Additive inverse of the given rational number.

Answer :–

Additive inverse of the given rational number

( - \dfrac{2}{7} ) is  + \dfrac{2}{7}

Additive Inverse :–

In simple word, changes of sign.

A number which have negative sign then the additive inverse of negative is positive.

Same if a number which have positive sign then the changes of their sign (additive inverse) is negative.

Examples :–

1) Additive inverse of –27 is +27.

2) Additive inverse of +54 is –54

3) Additive inverse of  \dfrac{8}{9} is  -\dfrac{8}{9}

4) Additive inverse of  -\dfrac{35}{76} is  \dfrac{35}{76}

5) Additive inverse of 0 is 0. Because 0 is the only number which have additive inverse being itself.
