The answer is 5/4

GIVEN

The product of two rational numbers is 1

One of the number is 4/5

TO FIND

The other number

SOLUTION

We can simply solve the above problem as follows;

Let the unknown number be x

Other number = 4/5 (Given)

It is given that,

The product of two numbers is 1

The algebraic equation thus formed is as follows;

x \times  \frac{4}{5}  = 1

To solve for x the number multiplied to x is divided by the product.

Therefore;

x =  \frac{1}{ \frac{4}{5} }

We know that when the fractions are divided, The denominator is multiplied to the dividend

Therefore;

 \frac{1}{ \frac{4}{5} }  =  \frac{1 \times 5}{4}  =  \frac{5}{4}

Hence, The answer is 5/4
