Answer:
1. Egg is the first stage of a silk worm's life cycle.
2. The eggs hatch into larvae or caterpillars, which feed on tender mulbury leaves.
3. The caterpillars spin fine silk filament around it in layers to form a cocoon. Silk threads are obtained from cocoon .
4. The pupae changes into a moth ,which comes out of the cocoon .The female adults lay eggs and the cycle continues.
The cocoon are obtained before the larvae mature by dipping the cocoons in hot water. this process of obtaining silk threads is called reeling or filature.
Filaments from 4-8 cocoons are separated and slightly twisted to create a single strand. these strands are then spun into silk cloth by the weavers.
