Dr Chandrashekhar Venkata Raman announced his work on 'Scattering of Light' on 28th February, 1928. For his outstanding work he got Noble Prize in 1930. He was the first Indian Scientist to get the Noble Prize. Government of India celebrate this day i.e. 28th February as National Science Day.
