Let the no. of pen sold= x

Loss on selling 1 pen= Rs.4

Loss on selling x pens= Rs.4x

Profit on selling one book= Rs.6

Profit on selling 30 books= Rs.(30×6)= Rs.180

A.T.Q

4x-180=100

4x=100+180

x=280/4

x=70

Therefore, no. of pens sold=70

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the number of pen sold=X

Loss on selling 1 pen= Rupees 4

Loss on selling X pen=Rupees 4

Profit on selling one book=Rupees 6

profit on selling 30 books=Rupees (30×6) =Rupees 180

According to question A. T. Q.

4X-180=100

4X=180+100

=280

X=280

X=280/4

=70

X=70

There fore, Number of pens sold 70.
