Indeed! For cancers, what I have noticed is that the treatment regime is almost same around the world. There are a few cancers which have a few treatment options available ( like breast cancer etc) and there are some other cancers with limited options to choose from ( say, Multiple Myeloma). Similarly, the prognosis of cancer is also dependent on the type and grade of cancer. The only thing crucial in treatment of any cancer is how early patient is detected with a particular type of cancer (early diagnosis is the key). Yet, whether it is early detection or late, majority of cancers are incurable and can be only halted and managed. There is where the money making system of doctors and pharmaceuticals have a scope to hit. What the attendants of cancer patients generally do is they buy extra time for their patients from their doctors. The doctors on the other hand preferentially advise medication brands which earn them a better commission (as Doctors have links with pharma representatives).
