Profits and problems of rythu bazar
Answers
Rythu Bazaar is a market for the farmers that has been initiated by the state government of Andhra Pradesh. It started in 1999 and it's main motive was to eliminate the need of middlemen to sell the farmers' produce to the consumers.
Here, the benefit lies in the fact that since farmers are directly selling their produce to the consumers, they are getting the correct price for it, and there's no mishandling of the produce and the consumers are also getting the fresh products from the farmers, thus helping both the parties.
However, this has taken a setback since several loopholes were detected in it.The problems are as follows:
1. Farmers do not stick to a fixed price, making it inconvenient for the consumers to buy from them.
2.Insufficient parking space.
3. Unhygienic conditions prevailing in the market.
4. Improper storage facilities, problem in transporting the produce and the concept of fixed prices are the factors for which farmers are not eager to sell their produce here.
The motive behind Rythu bazar was the bridge the gap between the farmers and consumers as with its establishment, negaotiation for fair prices could be reached more easily and thereby, eliminate the risk problem of middle men. There are lakhs of people who visi Rythu bazar but there are many problems faced by the people like inadequate parking services, stalls set up by hawkers infront of the bazar and markets growing inside the colonies wich are providing more competition.
