Objective
To play with rational and irrational numbers
Description
(1) Students know that a rational number has terminating decimal representation is the prime
factorisation of denominator is of the type 2- 5- (where m and n are non-negative integers).
(a) Divide the students of a class into two groups
Take as many cards as the total number of both the groups of students.
(iv) Write a distinguished real number on each card.
(v) Call the students turn by turn from each group.
(ui) Allow one student to pick up a card and ask him to quickly determine if the number is terminating
or non-terminating but repeating decimal Students will write in the column in the score board as
shown below:

(vi) Each student will be given a fixed interval of time say 20 seconds.
