PROJECT
1. There are two types of land called Metta and Tari. Traditionally, pulses are grown
on Metta land without irrigation and paddy is grown on Tari land with irrigation. If
you live in a village, find out about the type of soil in your area. What words are
used to describe the land in your village ? How is the soil ? Make a table showing
the following feature of soil - water absorption (high/low), water retention (quick
slow), sand content (high low), colour of the soil from the above village. Compare
them with type of soil in your village.

In this question, we are asked to talk about the land Metta and Tari.
- We typically refer to this type of area as dry lands. These kinds of areas can only be farmed if it rains.
- In this land, pulses predominately grow.
- These fields are farmed without the use of irrigation.
- The type of terrain known as Tari can be farmed using both irrigation techniques and rainfall.
- primarily food grains are farmed here.
- Paddy, wheat, sugarcane, turmeric, and other crops are examples (Irrigation).
- There are many types of soil.
- The country's coastal parts feature sandy soils.
- The most fertile soils are alluvial soils. RED SANDY SOILS are soils that are red and light in weight.
- Red soils that have a clay base
- Godavari Vijayanagar is East-West. More humus is present in these soils.
