project based on wastage of resources during election campaign in india
Answers
Election campaigns and political rallies draw large crowds, who are usually brought in from remote and far flung locations to the campaign or rally site.
Such campaigns generate huge wastage, which is largely ignored by people and media. The several buses and vehicles used to transport people cause traffic jams. A single long line of idling vehicles consumes several thousands of litres of petrol or diesel. It also causes pollution from the vehicle exhausts.
The unnecessary adornments and illuminations are sheer wastage of electricity.
Packing and promotional materials, food wrappings, bottles etc., usually of plastic of Styrofoam, used in such meetings, are not disposed of properly and clutters/blocks drains and gutters.
These are just a few of the colossal wastage, seen during such meetings.
