In the survey of the 10 families of my neighbourhood, I found out that most of them used a very high amount of polythene in day to day life, seven of the 10 families threw on an average seven polythene bags in the dustbin. These bags came along vegetable shopping, grocery shopping or were a part of some packaging. Only three family is carried a cloth bag to shopping and used as much less polythene as possible. For example they did not buy milk packets but bought milk in bottles. They also did not use the polythene bag given by the vendors. They used paper envelopes instead.
