The following aspects can be executed to show mercy for birds and animals :
1) Select a street dog and keep it in your home. Take care of his food, medicines, and vaccination when required.
2) Bowls of Water: Put a number of mud bowls filled with water at convenient locations for stray animals, during summers. A great number of creatures would be benefitted from this simple gesture. It will quench the thirst of thousands of creatures, from dogs and cats to birds, ants, wasps, bees and even snails.
3)Feed food grains to Birds: Spread rice, bajra, Chana, etc. on your rooftops or open balconies.
4) Someone Smile: Provide homes for abandoned and abused animals.
5) Adopt a pet: Instead of buying a pet from a store or a breeder, adopt one from an animal shelter or adoption center.
6)Speak in support of the Animals: When you see cruelty, protest. Talk to the perpetrators and speak your mind.
7)Control Animal Overpopulation: Overpopulation of animals often leads to hunger, unhealthy and sometimes aggressive strays that compromise their own welfare and threaten public health. So sterilize street dogs to control their number and organize Animal Birth Control (ABC) in your colony.
8)Plant Trees: Plant a number of trees and shrubs and provide a haven for birds and tree dwelling animals in your neighbourhood.
