Introduction

Hazards and disaster are very closely related and are sometimes taken as synonymous. As compared to natural hazards, natural disasters are relatively sudden and cause large scale death and loss of property.
Mitigation is the effort to reduce loss of life and property by lessening the impact of disasters. Mitigation efforts help people by creating safer communities and reducing loss of life and property. It can take place before, during or after a disaster. It lessons the financial impact of disasters on government and communities.

Conclusion

Natural disasters however power full and sudden may be, are not incapable of being guarded against. The modern technology has given enough gadgets to people for forecasting and lessening if not totally preventing heavy damages inflicted upon by the natural disaster. Only requirement is that people must take interest in getting as much awareness as possible about the safeguard measures. It is also important to see that we don't contribute to natural disasters by polluting the environment and by not living in resonance with others.
